Are People Really Making Money Affiliate Marketing

I was forced into a career change and didn’t know what I was going to do. My wife stays home with our little girl, the house all the bills and suddenly I didn’t have a job. I did have a little savings but not enough. I tried getting a new job in my industry but with the recession there were 10 applicants for every position. It was out of desperation that I started surfing the make money online sites. I started to get familiar with some of language and there seemed to be so much out there I had to ask myself, are people really making money affiliate marketing?

What Is Affiliate Marketing Anyway

First I had to find out what internet marketing or affiliate marketing was. What I found is that affiliate marketing is when one markets a product for a company on the internet, when a sale is made you get a commission. At first it sounded too hard, a long shot. I have never been a commission guy, I like a steady income. I did my research and then I started doing the math. There are tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of companies that have affiliate marketing plans. There are billions of people online everyday and many of them, maybe even more than 50% of them buy things on the internet. Then the answer was clear, people ARE making money internet marketing. OK so that’s great, my next question was how do I do it? What do I need to learn for affiliate marketing? What are the strategies that will get me started making money affiliate marketing?

Back to the old research… There are alot of different websites, programs, books and so on out there that claimed to show me affiliate marketing techniques. I am an interactive learner – meaning I do best when I have someone to teach me, to answer my questions, to give me a shove when I get stuck; so I kept looking. I found a couple of websites that do just that; both of them are good but one of them is fantastic (see the link at the bottom of this article).

Maybe You’re Asking At This Point If I Am Making Money Affiliate Marketing

So I have been at this thing for five months now and maybe you are asking if I am making money internet marketing? The answer is yes! It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t hard. It wasn’t easy because it takes work, and commitment. I had to have an open mind to learn something new; I had to think of it as my job so I could set a schedule and ‘go to work’. It wasn’t hard because it’s simple – very simple. Sure there was alot to learn and I almost gave up in the beginning, but I kept with it and suddenly it clicked; I saw the simplicity in it, put my nose to the grind stone and started making money affiliate marketing.

I know there are alot people in the same boat I was in, or maybe you just want a change. Whatever the case may be I am here to say you can do it. You can be making money affiliate marketing if you really want to. I am not getting rich at the moment, but I am not looking for a job anymore either.
