I noticed today that each result has 3 new icons next to it. After a bot of digging, I found out that it’s called SearchWiki. SearchWiki lets users reorder and remove results, and leave comments on specific links. Google will remember changes that people make to search results pages, and subsequent searches will display results with the user’s customizations and notes. Users will also have the option of seeing how other searchers have rated and reordered search results and view other people’s notes, making search results a collaborative effort.

Google Promote, Remove and Comment Options

I think this will change a lot in the way SEO effects a site. Prior to this feature, the webmaster was the only one who could have an influence on where his/her page listed in the results but now each and ever Google user has the ability to decide where that site will be listed. But how much weight will it actually have over a websites ranking? Surely anyone, for example your competitor, can Google your site hundreds of times and click the remove button? Or do you need to be logged in to Google for it to count?

I guess time will tell.
