Traffic Building- What’s the Best Bang for Your Buck?
Author: adminClearly, traffic building is one topic that lots of website owners get all excited about. This is fairly understandable considering that it is traffic that can lead to sales conversions. SEO experts can generate traffic in a variety of ways but you need to carefully choose the techniques that you use. Not all of them are worth implementing.
There are two main ways for you to generate sales. The most direct way of doing it is to simply reach out to people and ask them to visit your pages online. The other way is to get people to visit your site through the use of search engine optimization techniques. There are a variety of techniques and the ones that you choose to use will depend largely on the source of traffic that you would like to mine.
Direct ways to build traffic follow the typical path of offline marketing. You can get a couple of interested individuals to check out what you have by talking about your products and services in conventions, speaking engagements, e-mail sales pitches and informal chats with potential customers. If you are sociable, active and well connected, these usual selling methods will work well for you.
Traffic from search engines is not as easy to obtain. This is because what you should attract first are not people but robots. Search engine robots are the ones SEO specialists have to impress first because they are in charge of indexing and ranking pages. The higher your rank is, the easier web traffic building will be for you. Sites that appear on the first page of search results often get the most traffic. If you put yourself in the shoes of regular searchers, you would most likely not want to dig into deeper pages to find more sites. Your natural reaction would be to click on the sites on page one.
Search engine optimization can have its unique hurdles. One problem is sifting through numerous strategies. If you don’t have a lot of cash, common sense will tell you to pick the strategies that are likely to provide the best outcomes. Sadly, there is no absolute strategy that is the best for all sites. What will be good for you will depend on your abilities and on the SEO influence that you follow. Whichever technique that you opt for though, it is worth noting that you should never compromise keyword research and use.
Even before you build a site, keywords can already offer you a glimpse of traffic potential. The most basic explanation of keyword research is that it is the task of determining which phrases search engine users input in search fields. Various analysis tools reveal information about traffic volume and level of competition for specific key phrases.
In reality, many keywords are great traffic generators. This however should not be your only goal. Different keywords have different selling powers. Hence, you should much rather prefer to pick phrases that will help you convince readers to buy. In the health market for example, phrases that carry remedy in them are often best sellers.
A complete web traffic building campaign that starts with keyword research doesn’t come cheap. This is why online entrepreneurs prefer to settle for methods that are cost efficient. Remember though not to sacrifice applicability for affordability.
Strategies For Dominating Google
Author: adminWhat we are going to discuss is as an SEO specialist, what are the SEO method tactics we can use and how you can drive traffic to your sites.
Lets talk about the process to start with when you are starting up a brand new domain and you’re about to start promoting that domain name.
The very first thing I do when I’m setting up a new site is, I would do some research so I can plan out how I want to build the site around it. I like to go for the SEO side of it. I like to have a good on page structure. I’m also going to use that research to drive my off page content pointing back to it. As you know, you have to have your links having the right words. You also have to pay careful attention as to what page you’re linking back to. Research is a big component of that.
The research we are talking about here is keyword research. Being that I’m a SEO specialist, there are a number of things I’ll do for my research. Market Samurai is a great starting point. That would definitely help. There are more advanced things you can do as well, like actually run a pay per click campaign to find the high converting key phrases. Once you do, you can start matching your offers and going for higher conversions.
If you get your search query report going in your account with Google, then you can really get a feel for what sort of words people are finding a site for in the early phase. Then you can build out the site according to what the market’s telling you are high conversion type keywords. Everything I do is focused around buying keywords and going for the conversion.
What I’m attempting to do is accelerate my understanding of where the money is. So I will run some pay per click in the beginning to get data. I’ll use that data then to build more content. The content I’ll start distributing out across different networks using some of the things like Article Marketing. You’re probably familiar with that sort of stuff. Then I’ll use blog comments and then forums and press releases. I’ll also get links from other blogs by using some blog networks.
The combination of that is really going to power up the pages that you want to rank well and the ones that convert well.
So in summary, run some pay per click to find out what your buying keywords are, and monitor Google Analytics to know where people are converting from.
Then you are armed with the information to say, these are the keywords I need to be doing, build out the pages on your WordPress platform for those particular buying keywords. So as a SEO specialist you’ve built all that on page stuff. Make sure you complete all the title tags and the right meta descriptions for on page SEO. Next you will want to look at crafting little pages of content to drive traffic straight to the offer, straight from that, or funneling into another sales letter, depending on what you’re working on.
A systematic process to follow is key when funneling traffic to a new domain and work out your step by step process from getting the right keywords to the final traffic targeting.
Internet Marketing Products – An Overview
Author: adminIf you are a blogger, a webmaster, a part-time or even a full-time Internet marketer, you’ve probably already seen qute a few different offers for products that promise to reduce your workload and improve your results.
Many online marketing products out there promise that they can help you get more visitors to your website, build lots of backlinks for better rankings in search engines, write more and/or better content, add hundreds of followers on twitter while you sleep and much more.
Too bad the sales-pages for these programs usually lack any kind of tangible information about what the product will actually do for you. It’s often more about how great your life will be once you hit the “order” button and less about what you’ll actually get. At least, that’s been my impression.
That’s why I decided to create this overview of what kinds of tools are most commonly available and whether or not this kind of thing is worth the money.
Article Submission Software:
This type of software is generally targeted at article marketers. Article submission software will automatically log into many different article directories and automatically fill out the fields required with your pen name, article title, body and resource box and then submit the article. The more directories your articles are posted to, the more backlinks you get and the more exposure your writing gets online.
A good article submitter is worth it if you you are a determined article marketer. For maximum effect, make sure that the software includes automated registration to the article sites, automated email confirmation and basic article spinning features.
Directory or Search Engine SubmissionTools:
Directory and search engine submissions are available as a software package or as a service. What this does is submit your website URL to lots of different search engines (often, they submit to hundreds or even thousands) and website directories (websites consisting of categorized links to other websites).
Quite frankly, this type of service is almost never worth the price of admission. It’s not much use to you if your site is submitted to some obscure search engine in Lithuania and backlinks from online directories are mostly worthless (with the exception of the DMOZ and Yahoo directories).
Bookmarking Tools:
Automatic social bookmarking programs submit any websites you choose to lots of social-bookmarking sites like Digg, Backflip, del.icio.us, Mixx and many more. The software signs up, logs in and submits your bookmarks on autopilot and can save a lot of time.
Social bookmarking software is generally good, but only if used correctly. If you use them as spamming tools to just blast the sites with low-quality links, you’ll quickly see your accounts banned. So, if you decide to purchase a program like this, make sure there are good instructions (documentation or video tutorials) offered along with the software.
Competition Analysis Software:
Website analysis tools come in many shapes and sizes. Mostly, they enable you to analyze any website you coose, in-depth. For example, they might show you how many backlinks a page has, where those links are coming from, how many of it’s pages are indexed in Google and so on.
The point of all this is to allow you to evaluate your competitor’s strength before you enter a new market. You can find out why a page is ranking well in the search results and in turn, learn what you would need to do in order to outrank that page with one of yours.
This type of software is extremely useful to an Internet marketer, in my opinion. I would never move into a new market before completing some extensive research with such a program.
Keyword Research Software:
Products like this are often similar to, or in the same package as the analytics tools mentioned above. The purpose of such a program is to help you find an ideal keyword to target with a new website or article. You can see how many searches, results and competing pages there are for any given keyword and sort the results to narrow the search down and find your optimal keyword.
It isn’t absolutely necessary to spend money on a keyword research tool, since you can use the one offered by Google for free. However, a good tool can make research much easier and so paying for it can be worth it (if the tool is a good one.
General Automation Tools:
You can buy automation software for almost everything. From simple little things that send a tweet out automatically, every time you publish a new post to your blog to entire programs that run an entire marketing campaign for you and automatically post content even adding links and images, there’s hardly an affiliate marketing related job you couldn’t find a piece of software for.
Using such programs, it is hard to tell beforehand whether they will be worth it. Remember that you will never get one hundred percent successful submissions and the results from using tools will always look somewhat “artificial”, no matter how good the software is. As an example, if you auto-tweet and practically never post tweets you actually write yourself, you can’t expect your twitter account to be terribly popular.
I mus also add that there are a lot of nuances and overlaps among the different Internet marketing tools available and I can’t describe them all in detail in just one article. However, I hope this article helps you see past the hype and lofty promises on sales-pages.
To really get an idea of whether a program is worth it and learn exactly how you can get the most out of it, you need to find a trustworthy review and perhaps some helpful tutorials for every individual program.

Why Your Website Will Fail Without Keyword Research
Author: adminOne of the biggest mistakes a website can make is to ignore keyword research. It is doesn’t matter how great your website is or how low your prices are, if nobody can find it. For people to be able to find your website, you need to get your website to show up in search engine queries related to your niche. If you don’t take the time to figure out what keywords people are using to find your products or services, all you can do is blindly guess which keywords to use. You’ll probably be able to guess some good keywords, but there are likely hundreds of other keywords that you haven’t even considered. Some of your choices may not even be worth targeting.
Not Everyone Searches Like You
Too many people assume that they know exactly which phrases people will use when searching for their products or services. To you it may make sense for most people to just type in your exact product name. Not everyone thinks and behaves the same way as you do though. Here are some ways that their searches could vary:
-They may throw in an extra descriptive word.
-They may use a synonym for your product
-They might type a whole sentence or just a 2 word phrase.
-They might use regional spelling or terminology.
These are just some examples or search variations. Some other people might not even know what your product is called. Some people may search for a very broad phrase, while others search for something very precise. You just don’t know really know what people are searching for unless you do some research.
How Good Keywords Will Help Your Website
Choosing the best keywords can have a substantial impact on your bottom line. Good keywords can improve your traffic volume, total sales and conversion rates.
By doing keyword research you can get a good idea of which keywords get the most search volume. This ensures that you are targeting keywords that enough people are searching for, instead of wasting resources on keywords that don’t get enough searches. Advanced keyword research will also help identify which keywords have less competition. These keywords would be easier to get rankings and traffic from.
If you increase your traffic volume, your overall sales are bound to improve, especially if you are targeting quality, relevant keywords.
When you do keyword research you will be able to identify which keywords are most relevant to your niche. Targeting highly relevant keywords improves the quality of traffic on your website. These people are much more likely to buy your products or services.
What If You Ignore Keyword Research
Ignoring keyword research is a little like opening up a store but not bothering to put a sign out front. That sign tells your potential customers what your store offers. If those people don’t know what your store specializes in, they may very well walk right by your store without going in. Not putting a ’sign’ on your website is even worse. Instead of getting a lot of street traffic that might walk into your store, your store is now in a back alley with a sign written in Swahili.
If you don’t do proper keyword research, you either won’t get much traffic or that traffic will be low quality. Usually it will be a combination of both. As a result your sales and profits will suffer. The people looking for your products may never find your website. Essentially you would be wasting the potential of your website. If you want your website to succeed, keyword research is a must!
Keyword Research – A Necessary But Worthy Evil
Author: adminIf you want to rank well in search engines, then you absolutely must understand how to do market research and build your keyword lists. Why? Because keyword research determines your market’s profitability and competition.
If you skip this stage, you could wind up doing a lot of work following dead ends. There are some markets that just are not worth pursuing. You don’t want to end up chasing a market that isn’t profitable.
You need to decide what the market is looking for and bring yourself to the market. Many small business owners do just the opposite. They come up with a product or service they think the market needs and then try to go after and convince the market of their product value.
There are plenty of markets available that will suit your tastes. Once you find the market that you want to reach, then you will build your keyword or key phrase lists.
In this article, I assume that you already have a target market in mind. Therefore, I will give you a high level overview on how to do proper keyword research. I’ll start with the benefits of keyword research.
The Benefits of Keyword Research
What are the benefits of doing proper keyword research? Listed are four benefits of the power of keyword research:
1. It drives traffic to your site; just by simply using the words your target audience uses in their searches.
2. It helps you write more effective copy (sales copy) for your website; knowing what terms to incorporate into your copy helps your target audiences identify with your side immediately.
3. It helps with content development; it helps you create content that your target audience needs and avoids wasting your time on irrelevant topics.
4. It helps you understand your target audience better: you will know how and what your target audience is searching for.
5. It helps you measure the size of your market: just by determining the number of searches, you can target huge pools of untapped potential and avoid many pits.
6. It helps you to develop and diversify revenue streams: by using keyword research that exposes and employs popular keywords, you can be inspired to innovate and create new product and service ideas.
7. The bottom line: the results of keyword research are that your website copy, business strategies, and online marketing will be successful a great majority of the time.
Keyword research is the foundation to proper linking. Why is this important? Sometimes we assume we know what our audience is searching for. This is a common mistake many professionals make. They assume that since they are an authority on a topic they should know what their audience is searching for.
The only correct way to know what your audience is searching for is to do proper keyword research. What you think your audience needs or is looking for may be completely incorrect. I can guarantee that you will be surprised by the keywords your audience searches on to find your topic.
95% of websites are caught in the trap of bad keyword selection. High correlations of the keywords you use on your website and the words your target audience uses in their searches actually moves the website toward the audience and attracts many more targeted visitors.
Keyword links + keyword content on your site + keyword searches = solid search engine traffic.
Building Your Keyword Lists
Step One: Understand Your Target Audience
To start an effective keyword list, consider your potential customers’ motivations and intentions.
What kind of questions will they ask? What are they trying to accomplish? What problems do they need solutions to?
Step Two. You Must Understand the Types of Buyers and Your Target Audience
There are two types of buyers. The first type of buyer is the logical buyer. They will normally ask “how” and “what” questions when considering purchases.
However, 70% of all buyers are emotional buyers. These types of buyers are normally more spontaneous and concerned with the user experience and end results when considering a purchase. They asked the typical question, what’s in it for me?
Step Three. Think Like Your Target Audience
Remember, most of your buyers are emotional buyers. So, use the emotional slant to convince this type of buyer. Use emotional keyword anchors in your text. For example, if you had a website about running shoes, an emotional buyer is interested in the “best” running shoe or the “healthiest” running regime. They wouldn’t necessarily want to know the benefits of running shoes. They want to know what’s in it for them.
Step Four. Think Broad and Wide for Your Target Audience
Start with a broad list of keywords around your topic. Make sure they are specific enough to fit your target audience. Include terms that match closely with your visitors’ intent in relation to what you sell.
Note: traffic costs money! Think about quality not quantity. Your conversion rate is the most important factor. You don’t just want traffic, you want converting traffic!
Step Five. Prioritize Your Keywords Based on Conversion
If you don’t have conversion data, you’ll have to make your best guess as to which search terms you think will convert the best.
Consider these points:
1. Make your product or services’ intention clear. Don’t hide what you’re trying to sell.
2. If your keyword phrase is “blue high top basketball shoes”, make sure a visitor can buy “blue high top basketball shoes” on your site. Better yet, make sure you link to a page about those shoes.
3. Consider your ability to present value. How does your product present value?
4. Consider the amount of traffic you will generate using your keywords. If you’re using a cheap hosting provider, you may want to switch to something that can handle higher traffic counts. It’s frustrating to have a website go down because you can’t handle the traffic. This is something that you have complete control over. Make sure you don’t ruin your first impression by having a website crashes more often than not.
5. Consider the probability of conversion. If you are highly niched and know precisely what keywords or keyword phrases your target audience searches for, then use your highly niched keywords.
If you don’t know what the probability of your conversions will be, then you need to track this metric. There are several analytical tools that you can use to track this information. Don’t skimp. Make sure you know this information.
Keyword Research is the Most Important Step
The most important step you can take in marketing your website is keyword research. You not only need to know the keywords you want to get ranked for but also which keywords are converting the best for your website.
It makes no sense to drive a large amount of traffic to your site and not be able to stay in business because the conversions just aren’t there.
So, focus on quality NOT quantity. Start with your best keyword/phrase and begin your linking campaigns. Move down your keyword list, each time promoting and linking with the next keyword phrase.
In time, your site will not only move up in search rankings but move up based on the keywords that YOU chose. Don’t fall for the myth that more traffic you get the better.
Take control of your traffic and get ranked well for the keywords and phrases that are most profitable your business.
